As founder and Pastor of Refuge Church Midwest planted in Harvey Illinois, Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison Jr oversees one of today’s rapidly growing congregations in the south suburban area of Chicago. Pastor Lonnie D Harrison Jr. was ordained an elder in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. in the year of 1999. Under the leadership of his father Lonnie G. Harrison, Sr; Pastor of Life-Changing Ministries in Illinois (formerly Greater Mount Carmel, Church of God in Christ); Pastor Lonnie Harrison, Jr. served as assistant pastor for nearly 15 years. In the year of 2010, the Holy Spirit began to prepare Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. for the pastorate. Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. sensitive to the call of the Lord heard these words, “Prepare For Pastoring”.

 

September 11, 2013 Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. in obedience to the voice of the Lord held his first Bible Study at his place of business in Midlothian, Illinois. That night after prayer and deliverance of God’s Word, three SOULS where added to the Kingdom of God. That same night in a prophetic utterance the voice of the Lord spoke to Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. these words. “Today is a day that will forever be remembered as a day of destruction (9/11 Attack); but this day you will remember it as a day of “Raising Up and Building!”

 

Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. accepted his call to the pastorate officially on September 7th 2014 and founded Refuge Church Midwest. Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. is an established entrepreneur and business owner, with an extensive history in the music industry where he has shared the stage with gospel greats such as Tonex, Vicky Winans, Kim Burrell, Deitrick Haddon and many more.

 

Pastor Lonnie D. Harrison, Jr. has been married to Lady Heloise for 16 years and the couple has four children.

 

Refuge Church Midwest is located at 14720 South Page Street in Harvey Illinois. Current service times are being held every Wednesday night from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday services begin at 2:30 p.m. promptly.
